The conditions described below regulate the relationship between the aforementioned company and the customer. Therefore, when contracting tourist entertainment services it is assumed that the client is aware of and accepts these conditions.

Access to this website is permitted on a temporary basis and we reserve the right to withdraw or change services and content without prior notice. We will not be liable if, for any reason, this site is unavailable for any period of time. We may, from time to time, restrict access to some areas of it.

 Hike in Sintra is not responsible for damages or losses that may arise from the use of any information contained on this website.

Some links on this website redirect the customer to external websites. By clicking on these links, you will be leaving the Hike in Sintra website. As we have no control over these sites, we are not responsible for the material on them.

LAW AND JURISDICTION

This website was created and operates under the terms of Portuguese Law. Access to this website is subject to acceptance of these conditions and any dispute relating to it will be regulated by current Portuguese legislation, with only the courts of the Lisbon district having jurisdiction, expressly waiving any other. SCHEDULE

Service proposals (price, location, other information) will only be valid for the dates presented in the proposal. The description of each service on our website and in personalized proposals sent to customers is abbreviated, but as explicit as possible. Possible changes will be communicated when confirming your reservation. The activity programs provided to customers include a detailed description of the activities, such as general and specific conditions, prices, among other information. Participants in activities must therefore be aware of the program of the recurring activity.

 

PRIVATE GROUPS

Proposals for private groups/companies follow a prior budget and are dependent on the availability of the Hike in Sintra agenda. The proposed values depend on the number of people, chosen destination, duration of the event, among other variable factors.

 

TIME

The duration of the activities is given only as an indication and approximately, depending on factors external to the guides. A 15-minute grace period will be allowed for all participants to meet at the meeting point defined for each program and activity.

 

RESERVATIONS / PAYMENTS

All activities and programs on the Hike in Sintra website are owned and marketed by José Miguel Carneiro de Mello, ENI, under the brand Hike in Sintra.

To register for any Hike in Sintra activity, you must make your reservation via the reservation form on our website - hikeinsintra.com - or by email at miguelknowyourself@gmail.com, meaning that in this act you are making the purchasing the requested service and agreeing to the General and Specific Conditions of the activity. In this way, you undertake to pay for all services provided in the activity for which you carried out your reservation.

Reservation implies payment for the activity for which you have signed up. Payment can be made on the website or at the meeting point, before starting the activity. The payment methods available online are: Visa or Mastercard credit or debit card, Multibanco and MB Way references.

If you wish to issue a Receipt with your NIF, you must ask us when paying for the activity.

When registering/booking, the Customer assumes some commitments to Hike in Sintra:

Having read and accepted these Terms and Conditions of participation, as well as the program of the activity in which the Customer signs up, which constitute the particular conditions of participation in the activity.

Who is in adequate health conditions for the activity in which he is involved and accepts the nature of it, namely the risks arising from the impossibility of immediate access to medical assistance.

You should always inform Hike in Sintra if you suffer from any chronic illness or other illness that prevents you from practicing this activity. If you have permission from your doctor to participate, you will need to provide us with a medical certificate.

Who is aware of the type of physical and psychological demands that the activity involves and which could lead to extreme and unforeseen situations.

In activities, we must always be prepared to face new and somewhat unpredictable situations. At times and even when everything is planned, things may not go as expected, so when this happens, respect for others, understanding, good disposition, patience and consideration, will always be points in our favor and that will help us to overcome situations and continue to enjoy our journey.

Under no circumstances should you sign up for any type of Hike in Sintra programs if you have any physical or other problem that could in any way limit your performance, thus putting your physical integrity as well as that of the group in danger. that is integrated. A clear lack of physical or mental preparation may, for reasons of individual and collective safety, prevent participation in a specific program activity or in all of them.

 

REFUNDS AND CANCELLATIONS / CHANGES / CANCELLATION

If an activity needs to be canceled for reasons beyond our control (for example: extreme weather conditions that put the safety of participants at risk), we will notify you as soon as possible and will make every effort to we will present you with an alternative date that suits you or, in some cases, a full refund of the reservation amount may be available.

 Hike in Sintra reserves the right to cancel activities in the following cases:

The minimum participants required for each activity are not met;

Weather or other conditions make it impractical;

Safety conditions are not met;

The conditions set out in the particular conditions are not met;

The carrying out of many activities is dependent on weather conditions. If any activity is canceled due to weather conditions, a new reservation will be offered to you, but always subject to the weather conditions of the respective day.

If the customer cancels the reservation, they may receive a full refund of their payment under the following conditions:

In the case of activities lasting only 1 day, you will receive a full refund if you cancel up to 24 hours before the start of the activity and if Hike in Sintra, following the reservation made, has not already made commitments to other operators involved in the activity.

In the case of sold-out events, Hike in Sintra does not refund amounts already paid.

 

TRANSPORT

The itineraries are included in the programs only as an indication and the route is subject to change. The services we provide, unless expressly stated otherwise, do not include any type of transport or transfer.

SAFETY RULES

Hike in Sintra activities scrupulously comply with safety standards, reducing the risks associated with the activities we carry out. However, participants should be aware that due to the nature of the activities, the risk cannot be reduced in its entirety.

Participants in Hike in Sintra activities must undertake to follow certain rules of conduct, which respect their own safety, that of other people (participants in the activities or not) and nature. The company and its employees will not be responsible for inappropriate behavior by participants during activities, but may, however, conclude an activity if safety conditions or minimum standards of conduct are in question.

It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that they are in good health to carry out their activities. Certain activities require verification of certain conditions in the person who performs them, such as minimum age, health status and other physical and psychological requirements.

When possible, such restrictions will be indicated in the proposal sent to the client, and it is recommended that they be read carefully upon receipt.

 

RESPONSIBILITY

RNAAT No. 406/2024

Policy no.: 207221961 – Allianz Portugal Civil Liability Insurance, which covers property and non-property damages to third parties and Customers, which may be attributed to us in the course of our activity.

Personal Accident Insurance (SAP), all participants in our activities are covered by Personal Accident Insurance, activated on behalf of the Client:

25,500 Euros in case of death or total and permanent disability

4,470 Euros, for treatment expenses

Accidents and Activation of Personal Accident Insurance (SAP)

All insurance held by Hike in Sintra will be able to be activated within the period of time in which the activity/program in which the Customer has signed up takes place. This period of time is stipulated as the beginning of the date and time described in the program and will end on the day and time on which the Client abandons the activity/program, even if they leave it early and definitively or resume it later. Whenever the Client wishes to abandon the activity/program, they must inform the Hike in Sintra Guide.

Accidents subject to SAP action are considered to be all those that occur as a result of the normal development of the activity described in the program in which the Customer is participating or in any change introduced to it by Hike in Sintra.

Accidents may not be subject to SAP activation in the following circumstances:

When the Customer, on their own initiative, is carrying out any activity outside the scope and normal development of the activity described in the program or following risky behavior unnecessary to the activity in which the Customer is participating;

When the Client, on his/her own initiative and against the instructions of the Hike in Sintra Guide responsible for the activity on the ground, decides to make changes to the route or to the program described and in which the Client is participating;

When any safety rule previously established by the Hike in Sintra Guide is consciously exceeded by the Client.

Any and all Accidents that may be triggered by the SAP must be reported to the Insurance Company, within a maximum of 72 hours after the conclusion of the activity in which the accident occurred.

OTHER INFORMATION

All content on the Hike in Sintra website (texts, photographs and information) is protected by copyright and cannot be used without prior authorization from Hike in Sintra. The images collected by participants during activities carried out by Hike in Sintra may be used for the purpose of promoting its services on our website and social media pages. If you do not agree with this policy, you must inform the company by email (miguel.knowyourself@gmail.com) that you do not authorize the use of your photos in advertising our events, in the website gallery and social media pages. If you want to see your images published with your credits, you should always include your name on the images you send us.
