On Saturday, November 9th, we invite everyone to embark on a unique journey to the Sumedhãrãma Buddhist Monastery in Ericeira. During this guided tour by one of the resident monks, we will have the opportunity to immerse ourselves in the daily life of this community, exploring their philosophy of life based on simplicity, meditation and compassion.
Taking our children to visit the Sumedharama Buddhist Monastery in Ericeira offers a unique opportunity to experience a new culture and way of life. The visit allows children to explore the tranquility of the monastery, see the stupa, the kutis and the Bodhi tree, and learn about the importance of these elements in Buddhist practice. In addition, practicing meditation at the monastery can help develop concentration and inner calm, providing an enriching and educational experience that promotes values of peace and respect.
For children and young people, this visit will be especially enriching. At the end of the tour, there will be a meditation session adapted for the youngest, where they will be able to learn relaxation and concentration techniques that can benefit their emotional and mental well-being. The experience culminates with a short walk around the property, allowing everyone to appreciate the tranquility and natural beauty of the monastery.
